Every year, language schools, English courses and apps send millions of learners out into the world who have studied hard, passed their tests, maintained their streaks..but can barely hold a conversation.
Because English in the real world is different. People speak fast. Accents vary. Slang is everywhere. It’s hard to keep up!
When theself-doubts creep in, women like Amy fall silent. 💔
They know English but they still lack the confidence to use it.
They understand more than they can express.
The Confidence Gap
That gap between knowing English and speaking English is what we call the Confidence Gap. As Myriam told us soon after she joined:
"I always thought my English had to be perfect, perfect all the time. Since I joined Hey Lady! I feel more relaxed about speaking, no more pressure. And I feel confident. This is what happened to me in only 3 months"
Confidence comes from experience, using what you already know in real conversations with real people. People who know your name, make you feel safe to make mistakes and aren't charging you per hour for their time. 😅

Every new member joins Hey Lady! as a Little Sister and is matched with a Big Sister; our team of incredible mentors who volunteer their time for the community, 16 strong and counting!
Your Big Sister helps you find your footing, joins your first conversations, and stays by your side for as long as you need her. She remembers what day one felt like.
Big Sisters receive ongoing training and work directly with our founders to shape the future of Hey Lady!

I’ve been on this platform since 2025, and it has truly transformed my English and my confidence in professional settings. Not afraid of making mistakes anymore
Since I joined, my English has improved a lot. But more than that, I’ve learned so much from all the other amazing ladies. The coaches and the HL! team are super supportive, and the big sisters always organize really meaningful events that help us grow and give back to others. What I love most is that everyone is so kind and always ready to help, no judgment at all.

More Than Just English Practice
I’ve been using Hey Lady for about a year, and it has been a truly valuable experience for me. It’s a wonderful platform for women who want to practice English in a supportive and friendly environment. We can have meaningful conversations with women from different cultures.
The First platform that made me want to come back
I started learning English as an adult. I tried many different platforms and apps, but neither the well-known ones nor the less popular ones could keep me engaged for long. Then I tried the Hey Lady platform, and something changed. I always feel the desire to come back. The more time I spend here, the stronger my motivation becomes to keep learning English with this community.
The friends I've made are my greatest treasure
While we share the common goal of becoming fluent in English, our connection goes far beyond that. We support and inspire one another to build a more fulfilling and enjoyable way of life. The friends I’ve made here are my greatest treasure, people I could never replace.
The value for money is excellent
The value for money is excellent, and the amount of content is overwhelming in a good way. Since the community consists only of women, I can speak in a very comfortable and relaxed environment. I also really respect Emma’s attitude toward continuously improving the program and adding new features. Even after three years, I’m still enjoying it, and I can feel my English improving.
The safe space I was searching for
You can study for hours, but without a place to use your voice, progress stops. I was almost ready to give up after trying countless apps and groups, even another community, but Hey Lady! changed everything. What makes it different is the community’s deep understanding of what learners actually need. I love the freedom to create my own events and match with peers at my level.
Warm and friendly atmosphere
I like how people engage with the community. We can connect with each other freely, both philosophically and practically.
How you build your community here is entirely up to you. Teachers and Big Sisters are always there to support us. They not only guide us but also care about each individual. This creates a warm and friendly atmosphere. I’ve made friends here whom I would never have met if I hadn’t joined.
Before I joined, my English level was so harsh
I didn't have any confidence to speak with people in English. After I had joined this community everything changed. Nowadays I can speak on any topic at any time with any preparation in advance, it's a huge achievement for me. I learned a lot from the community not only English but also I learned about many cultures. This community became part of my life. It changed all my life.
The best experience learning English
What I love most about Hey Lady is the sense of community. It's not just about grammar or vocabulary, it’s about real conversations with women from around the world who are going through the same process. The platform feels safe, supportive, and incredibly empowering. I highly recommend it to any woman looking for a welcoming space to practice and improve her English in a meaningful way.

On a mission to create
One billion sparks
When we first built Hey Lady!, we were solving a practical problem: finding people to practise English with was hard.
But as our members started talking, something unexpected happened. In every conversation, they weren't just practising English.
They were connecting. Sharing their lives and supporting each other, noticing how different they are, and yet how similar.
Each conversation created a little spark. The beginning of a new friendship based on understanding and respect for different perspectives, different world views and cultural norms.
We were so inspired by this we made it our mission to spark one billion meaningful conversations between women of different cultures.
A woman who finds her confidence in English doesn’t keep it to herself. She speaks up in meetings. She advocates for herself and others. She raises children who see the world differently. She influences the people around her: her family, her colleagues, her community.
One woman's confidence creates a ripple that reaches far beyond her.
